Levianara Map
Levianara is a lone continent in the middle of the sea, there was once magic here and wars between the five original city-states, but for some unknown reason, magic has been fading. Fearing what would happen when magic finally dies, the city-states formed a treaty, and since then two other territories have developed.
The current seven major city-states of Levianara are labeled as the seven main colors of the rainbow from red to violet, they are:
Durmara - This desert city has the heaviest influence from the Tseth nomads and their culture. Durmara is home to the most active Tseth temples on the whole continent. Even human inhabitants of the city have a tendency to follow some aspects of Tseth religion, which is especially evident in Durmari art which tends to focus its subjects on the sun and the colors yellow and red. The city's territory expands off the mainland to the island of Hulla, which houses some of the richest residents of Durmara, as well as some of the poorest. Durmara still has yet to build proper ports, and so they rely primarily on trade via railway.
The Varren Collective - A series of six smaller cities, the Varren Collective is the most recent to declare itself a city state after uniting its smaller parts under trade contracts and the agreement that each smaller section accept and celebrate the culture of its neighbors. Its name is based from the two southernmost sections Vare and Yehna which hold the most political influence over the other sections. Even now though, the other city-states have doubts about the collective's ability to govern itself.
Crostrunn - The Station city is at the center of the Greater Planes Area. It holds the main railway station with access to five of the other six city-states, and it acts as the central hub for trade and culture. It is however entirely reliant on the trade assistance of the other city-states, as it lacks access to some basic resources such as lumber, water, and fish. The Station City also has some of the highest crime rates with smuggling rings running rampant. Recently some groups have begun stealing and hoarding ancient magical artifacts in attempts to save some power for themselves once the magical influence finally fizzles out.
The City of Hopeful Green - A mouthful, this city-state is known to outsiders simply as "Green City", but eccentric locals refer to it as "Hopeful". Despite its proximity to the Floral Forest, Green City's lumber export is next to nothing, as the residents have turned away from manual labor and have become heavily focused on training their minds and preserving magic so that they may be granted access to The Library which stands to the West of the city. The Library is the only remaining place in Levianara with access to pure magical knowledge. The Librarians, the two giant ravens who reside at the top of the structure, have restricted access to all humans, fearing they will lose anything that they borrow.
Sellenity - Conveniently named, one of Sellenity's biggest exports is salt, coming second only to lumber. This city state has the greatest cultural divide within itself, with the North and South halves of the city pitted against one another. The North tends to be oriented more toward preservation of Sellenity with no interference from other city-states. The South half prides itself on its acceptance of Tseth culture which has recently been on the rise, and the Southerners preach on the importance of uniting with all outside influences. The one thing either side agrees on is their disdain for the sea dwelling Kurramm shark people who have begun to make their way into the city's underground.
Urugrel - To the other city-states, Urugrel is known primarily as the mining city. Its nearness to the Mountainous Divide has certainly helped the city acquire a surplus of stone to export. Urugrel is solely responsible for digging the railway tunnel through the Mountainous Divide, and for their contributions, Crostrunn and Durmara have agreed to pay them a portion of their trades as thanks. Urugrel is also heavily focused on farming. For some reason, many great authors have come out of Urugrel. Because of this a literature museum has been in construction for years, but some mysterious group's sabotage has halted the progress constantly.
Kavros - Built on the edge of a cliff, Kavros is the most technologically innovative city-state. The thick woods of the High Forest have prevented easy railway access, and Sellenity has restricted access through their ports with bribery being the best ticket through. Despite this, Kavros has advanced their technology in ways unknown to the other territories. Their ports are accessed through a series of cranes and elevators alongside the cliff face. There are also rumors that the city has dug down and now extends to the ground beneath the cliff.
