Sellenity




Conveniently named, one of Sellenity's biggest exports is salt, coming second only to lumber. This city state has the greatest cultural divide within itself, with the North and South halves of the city pitted against one another. The North tends to be oriented more toward preservation of Sellenity with no interference from other city-states. The South half prides itself on its acceptance of Tseth culture which has recently been on the rise, and the Southerners preach on the importance of uniting with all outside influences. The one thing either side agrees on is their disdain for the sea dwelling Kurramm shark people who have begun to make their way into the city's underground.

Sellenity is an awful place.  Pretty, but awful.

Tseth Religion

The Tseth religion primarily follows the sun.  In fact, Tseth means "sun" in their ancient language.  The Tseth worship the sun for giving light and watching over them constantly.  They also believe exposure to the sun imbues both knowledge and beauty.   The idea that the sun gives knowledge traces back to before the Tseth had access to other forms of light.  The sun was the only light by which they could read their informative texts, and thus the sun allowed them to gain knowledge. The sun is said to give beauty , as not only does it allow for one to be seen in good light, but the extreme heat from the sun in the Eastern Desert causes those exposed to it for long periods to sweat.  The Tseth see sweat as a person glistening much like a precious gem. The Durmari Alphabet

The Durmari alphabet is shared between Durmara and the Tseth nomads.  Developed within Durmara, it spread to the Tseth so that the nomadic cities could easier communicate.  This alphabet is used both in the Durmari and Tseth language, though the alphabet is shared, many words still differ.  The two groups have worked a way around this, by using single letters to signify basic communicative needs between the two.
