The Tseth

The Tseth are also called the Sun People.  They originate from the Eastern Desert, with their nomadic cities found most often along the Eastern River.

Physical Appearance

The Tseth are a human ethnicity with dark, caramel-like skin and naturally dark almost black hair, larger red irises are also common among Tseth.  After Birth, however, a Tseth's appearance will change.  Almost immediately after birth, a Tseth baby undergoes a surgical procedure to reshape the ears so that they point upward toward the sun, as it is an old tradition.  It is also a common practice to put oils in Tseth hair so that the sun may bleach it over time.  This however, is done by the individual them self, typically not until their teenage years.  As for non-permanent physical changes, many Tseth will line their eyes with yellow makeup.  Though, wealthier people may use gold makeup as to display their wealth.  The practice of using gold only came into place after years of interaction with the people of Durmara, where wealth is of greater importance.

Fig. A
Figure A shows a sketch from Levianara: the Traveler's Handbook.  The left image shows a Tseth male, with one of his pointed ears visible. The right of Figure A details two styles of Tseth eye makeup.  The yellow around the eye is used to give a sort of resemblance to the sun, with lines branching off to depict the sun's rays. Some styles have a specific meaning (i.e. the bottom depicts downward facing rays from the inner eye, which means the wearer is in a happy relationship).  However some styles are purely aesthetic.  Tseth physical alterations are a result of practicing Tseth religion, which has used physical alterations for as long as anyone can remember.

Clothing

Traditional Tseth outfits resemble a loose jumpsuit without sleeves.  They are typically dyed red, maroon, or brown, which stays in tune with the clothing representing the wearer being the life given by the sun.  However, clothing as a whole is not as important to Tseth.  They have no problem adapting to the styles of whatever location they are in, as clothing is no more than a form of insulation to them.  Because of this, outsiders note that Tseth have a strange level of comfort in nudity whether public or private.

Figure B depicts standard Tseth clothing (left), as well as adjustments made by richer, more extravagant Tseth (right).
